Highlights in July

I've launched my e-book called "The Alphabet Adventure". I am extremely excited as it is available electronically via download or as a printed copy. It is all about learning the Alphabet sounds in a fun way. Using the letter of the week in stories, activities, crafts, bible stories, recipes and many more. To all my American readers - Happy Independence Day! Hope you all had a great family day. Enjoying the sun, picnic's and all the festivities.

Something Spiritually (a Prayer by Rev. Wright) This caused chaos all over the world

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it
the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. 

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition .We have polluted the air with profanity and por nography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!


With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'one nation
under God.'

Preschool Reading

I'm sure we all  wonder when our child is ready to read. What are the signs and how can you help?

Reading is the most important skill your child will ever learn. If a child struggles to read, then he will struggle with various other ways of learning as he will be frustrated when he is required to read. Eventually it will also lead to other problems such as self esteem. In the same breath - children develop differently and at their own speed, but you can help them to read earlier by doing just a few things.

Teaching Strategies

I'm totally focusing on Reading this month, maybe because I feel it is such an important factor in a child's learning development.  The best place to start, even before your child is ready to read is to read lots of stories, poems and rhymes to them. Choosing the correct books for your child's age is also very important, because you do not want to lose them along the way. They get bored very quickly. I'm sharing some teaching strategies in finding the right book and how to read to your preschooler.
